Freshness states

Live, updating, delayed, stale and unavailable describe the age and condition of the provider response. They do not describe whether a market move is important. The interface retains a last-known-good snapshot only with an explicit stale state.

Dominance and market share

Bitcoin dominance is Bitcoin's market capitalization divided by the provider's aggregate crypto market capitalization. Altcoin share is the remainder to 100 percent in the same provider frame. Both measures inherit the provider's asset coverage, supply definitions and update timing; they describe composition, not capital flows or investment quality.

Breadth, mood and Current

Breadth is the share of finite 24-hour price changes above zero within the provider's top 100 assets by market capitalisation. If no finite observations exist, breadth is unavailable rather than assumed. Mood combines breadth, total-market direction and market-cap-weighted major-asset direction; a missing component receives a neutral calculation input and high average absolute movement can produce a heated state.

The Current uses the same measurable inputs to express a rules-derived market posture and its strongest push-and-pull factors. Mood is not human or social sentiment, and no historical mood is shown until genuine snapshots are stored. These classifications are descriptive summaries, not predictions or advice.

Revision

Definitions, thresholds and provider mappings are versioned in code. Material methodology changes should be dated here and should not rewrite historical meaning without disclosure.
