What happens to a seed phrase when memory fails?

Causal bridge: Capacity can decline before ownership ends, while recovery procedures often assume a consistently capable owner.
Counterforce: Guardianship, professional custody and prearranged multisignature can move the dependency elsewhere.

02Speculative

Causal bridge: Software can control credentials and initiate payment while legal ownership and liability still attach to a person or entity.
Counterforce: Agency law may treat the machine only as a tool, making robot ownership unnecessary.

03Known

Causal bridge: Transactions can be formed offline, but eventual consensus requires a path back to the network.
Counterforce: A prolonged partition creates stale information and double-spend risk rather than an independent local economy by default.

04Known

Causal bridge: Physical propagation time sets a floor beneath coordination latency across very long distances.
Counterforce: Local batching and asynchronous designs can reduce how often distant parties need real-time agreement.

05Speculative

Causal bridge: A connected device might authenticate maintenance or pay for a service, but payment authority near a body changes the safety model.
Counterforce: Hospital procurement and conventional billing may remain safer than autonomous device payment.

06Plausible

Causal bridge: Ownership can outlive storage media only if secrets, formats and software migrate before each layer fails.
Counterforce: Institutional continuity and periodic key rotation may make the original hardware irrelevant.

07Plausible

Causal bridge: A higher-value workload can bid for the same constrained grid connection and capital.
Counterforce: Miners can use interruptible or stranded power that continuous compute cannot value equally.

08Speculative

Causal bridge: A vehicle buying energy, roads and repairs needs authorization and accounting even if it never becomes a legal person.
Counterforce: The fleet owner can retain one conventional account and treat each car as an endpoint.
